All other usb devices work in all the slots. Have you tried another one in case yours is faulty or the slot is full of dust ? I gather you are using a Card Reader Device ( built in or stand alone via USB cable card reader ) also have 3 otherĬards that also won't work. I had to recover computer to an earlier date just to get the device back in device manager. Virtual com port (com4) was still missing in device manager from uninstall & cards didn't read. I uninstalled the device but every time I thought I was re-downloading it said download complete but STMicroelectronic I then unplugged from mother board doing restarts but that didn't fix either. Tried to update driver but says I have the latest software. In device manager STMicroelectronic virtual com port (com4) property's says "The device cannot start" Geek squad was n help. All other card types & thump drives open just fine.
SD cards not able to open using either card reader slot or usb via camera cable.
